Our class loved Maniac Magee. It moved to us to laughter and tears. Jeffery (Maniac Magee) is an incredibly unique character. Even in the face of difficult circumstances, he's able to see the good in other people. It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from - Jeffery can find the good in you. We decided to write a song based on this idea. Hopefully we'll have it recorded soon so we can share it with you. This video will share the song lyrics, as well as the responses we had from the book.

AMAZING lyrics, written by beautiful minds! We adults could learn from this. What are your plans to record this? Aren't you friends with Joe Wehunt?
Tommee,
Thanks for those kind words. The kids did an amazing job with the lyrics - really inspiring. I want to record us singing all three of the songs we've written this year. I want to get a really good recording, but I'm not sure how to do that on my school computer. I'm not sure who Joe Wehunt is - is he someone who can help us out with the recording?
Wow! Your words amaze me and inspire me. I love y'all.
Love the responses from this book! How wonderful! What an insightful group of kids.
Joe is in the band Hitmob7 www.hitmob7.com. He works for Skyline post as a Composer/Audio Specialist. They produced the commercials for the Frazee Center.
I know Joey Beason from Skyline - both he and his wife volunteer at the Frazee Center. They're wonderful people!
